Adventure by bike

How it works

We support two primary types of trips: bike touring trips along established bike pathways such as the Ohio to Erie Trail (OTET), Great Allegheny Passage (GAP) and C&O Trail, and backcountry adventures that include a mix of gravel roads, forest service trails, and limited single track. Bike tours typically meander through towns and encounter frequent restaurants, gas stations, and services along the way. Backcountry adventures are more remote, often with limited services and more days between towns.

In all cases, riders must supply their own bicycle and bike gear, including helmet, bike lights, and bike bags. Riders must also bring their own camping equipment such as a tent and sleeping bag. We bring the food and detailed trip itineraries. Plus equipment for minor mechanical repairs and first aid gear.

We provide all riders with shuttle service to the start of the ride and daily Supply-and-Gear (SAG) support. Riders can choose to have us shuttle some, or all, of their camping gear to the day’s destination. At camp each evening we will provide hot food and a variety of refreshments. We will have limited bike repair capabilities to handle most (but not all) mechanical issues and also provide daily bike tune-ups for the next day.

We also provide shuttle support for the OTET.

Bike Tours

We offer multi-day bike touring routes for all skill levels. Bike tours are typically on gravel roads, established bike paths, or a mix thereof. These routes are generally slightly less remote than the high adventure routes, with less changes in elevation and more options to stop in small towns along the way. We think bike touring is a blast and it’s also a great way to get started as a bikepacker!

What to expect:
  • We coordinate the logistics of the trip, including shuttling from start-finish of the route and camping accommodations. We can help with recommendations for hotels and B&Bs if you prefer not to camp
  • We offer gear transport from daily start and end points and help with any unforeseen bike mechanicals along the way
  • We prepare morning and evening meals and offer plenty of recommendations for local lunch spots and cool stops during the day
  • Each rider will receive a full route itinerary and daily route map & directions. We can adjust the mileage or number of days to make the route work for you
  • Riders bring their own bikes, cycling gear, and basic camping equipment like tent, sleeping bag, and headlamp. Check out our recommended gear list here.
